Eid Mubarak or Why Is Eid Celebrated twice in year?

Eid is a great religious festival for Muslims all over the world. Eid means joy or happiness. This Eid festival is celebrated in every house of  Muslims twice in a year. The festival that is celebrated first is Eid al-Fitr, and the festival that is celebrated later is called Eid al-Adha. Each year the Eid-al-Fitr  festival is celebrated on the first day in the month of Shawwal(Hijri Year) and on the other Eid is generally called Eid-al-Adha which is celebrated on 10th day of Dhu’l-Hijjah month.This year Eid-al-Fitr falls on 24th May,2020(may differ 1 day dependent on sighting of lunar crescent)  and Eid-al-Adha will be celebrated on 31st July,2020.

What Is Eid-al-Fitr ?

Every year, the Muslims fast for a long month, during the month of Ramadan.Eid-al-Fitr is celebrated for the pleasure of fasting for a month.On that day, every Muslim family rejoiced.Three to four days before the end of Ramadan, Muslim across the world starts preparing for Eid. Everyone brings new clothes and all new household things to the home for themselves. The night before Eid is called ‘Chand raat”.Even on that day, Muslim recites namaz and thanks Allah.

Night before Eid “Chand Raat” or Spiritual meaning of Eid-al-Fitr?

Before, “Chand Raat” or Eid Prayer every Muslim donate some amount of  Rupees according to wheat price i.e called Fitra to the poor people and also donate  Zakat to the needy peopl?e may be relatives or poor  which is calculated on the savings of a person after all expenses through the year the amount of  Zakat is 4% of how much a person safe through a year. Zakat is the 4th Pillar of Islam. The five pillars are Faith, Prayer, Fasting, Zakat and Hajj.

How do Muslim celebrate Eid-al-Fitr?

On the day of Eid every Muslim gets up in the morning take a bath and wear new traditional cloth like Punjabi, Salwar, Sherwani and go to Eidgah after eating dessert(Dry dates with Milk). On Eid, the Muslims gather at the Maidan or generally open roads and offer prayers. Everyone attends the Eid prayers at the Eidgah and the Imam performs the prayers. After the prayers, the Khutba is read and recited. Then they exchanged hugs with each other.Everyone wished each-other a happy Eid and returned to home happily.

Foods and recipes to celebrate Eid-al-Firt

Eid is basically a symbol of happiness. Regardless of the rich and the poor, everyone participates in it. Eid day, whether rich or poor, everyone in their home made special food like Siwaii, Sheer-Khurma, Dahi-bara, Sahi-Tukda etc. for themselves and for relatives.The boys and girls in the house celebrate the day wearing a new clothes.Everyone went to the relatives' house to greet Eid.Older people in the house give money to small children this is called “Parbi”.

On Eid, everyone forgets his hostility and everyone hugs everyone.People have the gift of fasting for a month with God. Until two or three days after the Eid, everyone goes to his relatives' house and other relatives come to his house, thus exchanging greetings with one another.Everyone goes to each other’s house for brotherhood.
