A Rainy Day

A rainy day is welcomed by all in the summer season. It gives relief from heat. After a sharp shower of rain, the weather becomes pleasant in summer. This year I experienced such a pleasant rainy day. It was a warm day in June. Our summer vacation was just over. I was walking to school. It was unbearable hot outside. I began to sweat. Soon I saw a patch of dark cloud in the north. In no time the sky was overcast. A cool breeze began to blow. When I was only half way, it started to drizzle. Soon it changed into a heavy downpour. I ran to a nearby shop for shelter. People were running for shades. But they were glad that rain had come.

A Rainy Day

The shower continued for an hour. All the roads and lowlying lands were flooded with water. Traffic came to a halt. When the rain stopped the people came out of their houses. I ran to school drenched to the skin. Others also had the same fate. The Headmaster declared the day a rainy day. We returned home happily.
